Cooltree holds CRREM Accredited Service Provider status

Cooltree has been awarded CRREM Accredited Service Provider (ASP) status and is part of the first accredited cohort. We are now listed in the CRREM Foundation’s first Directory of Accredited Service Providers.

Why comparability matters

Investors, lenders, tenants and property owners increasingly rely on CRREM assessments to inform investment, financing and portfolio decisions. That means they need to be able to trust that a CRREM-based climate risk assessment has been carried out correctly, regardless of who performed it. The CRREM Foundation established the ASP programme to support that consistency and comparability across the market.

For Cooltree, accreditation is a firm-wide commitment: we apply the CRREM methodology to one shared standard, on every engagement and for every client.

What is CRREM?

CRREM is the global standard for aligning real estate with climate goals and measuring transition risk. The CRREM Foundation is an independent non-profit. It develops open-access, science-based decarbonisation pathways: around 1.000 of them, by property type and region, aligned with a 1.5°C warming scenario.

When you compare a building against its pathway, you get the CRREM Misalignment Year: the year in which the asset exceeds its carbon budget. This makes transition risk visible and manageable across a portfolio. The SBTi Buildings Standard and the IIGCC Net Zero Investment Framework are among the frameworks that use the CRREM Pathways.
